Frequently Asked Questions about Faith Lutheran Church in Isle 

Services & Worship

  • When is worship held?
    Sunday worship starts at 9:30 AM. You’ll often hear the bell tower ring just before the service begins. 

​

  • What is the worship style like?
    Services follow a classic Lutheran order—prayers, Bible readings, sermon, hymns, and communion. Once a month, music is led by the worship band 

​

  • Can I receive communion?
    Yes! Communion is open to anyone who desires to receive it, held every Sunday.

​

  • Is there fellowship after worship?
    Yes—around 10:30 AM, there’s a coffee fellowship with snacks. All are welcome and participation in the free-will offering is optional. 

​

What to Wear

  • What should I wear to worship?
    The church welcomes all attire—come “as you are.” Typical congregants often wear business casual (e.g., slacks & polos for men, skirts/blouses or slacks for women), but jeans, shorts, Hawaiian shirts, and sandals are also completely fine. 

​

Parking

  • Where should I park?
    The church parking lot is south of the church building (main entrance) and there is an overflow lot on the northeast side of the church (rear/side entrance). There You may also park on nearby side streets.

Children, Youth & Family Programs

Faith Lutheran has a vibrant slate of offerings for children and youth throughout the school year:​

  • Faith in Action (Pre-K to 6th Grade)
    Meets on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 PM during the school year. It includes food, fun, and lessons about Jesus, including the Lord’s Prayer, Ten Commandments, and Apostles’ Creed. 

​

  • Confirmation (7th & 8th Grade)
    Meets Wednesday at 6:30 PM during the school year. This two-year curriculum dives deeper into the Bible (Year 1) and Luther’s Small Catechism (Year 2). Confirmation typically happens in fall of 9th grade. 

​

  • High School Youth Group (9th–12th Grade)
    Meets Wednesdays at 7:30 PM—an opportunity for food, fellowship, community, and faith growth. 

​

  • Vacation Bible School & Camp
    Faith Lutheran hosts Vacation Bible School (VBS)—kids of all ages are welcome to participate (recent event in 2024). In 2025, we partnered up with Camp Onomia for VBS along with other surrounding churches.

Additional Info & Tips

  • Who can attend?
    All are welcome—Faith is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). 

​

  • Children during worship
    On arrival, children are offered activity bags to help them engage during the service. The pastor also shares a message specifically geared toward kids before the sermon.
