Thanksgiving in a Bag: Sharing a Meal, Sharing God's Love

Thanksgiving is a time to gather around the table, share a meal, and reflect on the blessings in our lives. But for some families in our community, putting a Thanksgiving meal on the table can be a challenge.

This year, Faith Lutheran Church is coming together to help make Thanksgiving a little brighter for our neighbors through Thanksgiving in a Bag!

Our goal is to assemble 60 complete Thanksgiving meals to donate to the Isle Food Shelf, helping local individuals and families enjoy a holiday meal without the added financial burden.

Each bag will include the ingredients for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, along with a $25 Teal's Market gift card to help families purchase additional items for their holiday table.

It's a simple way to put our faith into action, share what we have, and remind our neighbors that they are loved and supported.

How Can You Help?

We invite our congregation and community to be part of this meaningful ministry!

We are collecting canned and boxed Thanksgiving food items, including:

Instant mashed potatoes
Stuffing
Gravy
Canned vegetables
Cranberry sauce
Sweet potatoes
Chicken broth
Corn muffin mix
Brownie mix

Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to providing 60 Thanksgiving meals.

Food donations will be collected through Sunday, November 8th.

After our collection period ends, we will take inventory of everything donated and purchase any remaining items needed to complete all 60 bags.

Many Hands Make Light Work!

On Sunday, November 15th, following worship, we will gather to assemble our Thanksgiving in a Bag donations.

This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals, families, and children to participate in serving our community. Together, we will organize, pack, and prepare each bag for delivery to the Isle Food Shelf.

Whether you donate a can of corn, help pack a bag, or contribute toward a gift card, you are helping make a difference.

A Season of Gratitude and Giving

At Faith Lutheran Church, our mission is to grow in Christ and serve others. Thanksgiving in a Bag is one more opportunity to live out that mission and be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community.

We are grateful for every person who helps make this ministry possible and for the opportunity to partner with the Isle Food Shelf to care for our neighbors.

As we prepare our own Thanksgiving celebrations, may we remember that some of the greatest blessings come not from what we receive, but from what we share.

Together, let's fill 60 bags with more than food. Let's fill them with kindness, generosity, and God's love.
