Holy Week

The feast of Palm Sunday commemorates Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem, an event mentioned in each of the four Gospels. Its name originates from the palm branches waved by the crowd to greet and honor Jesus as he entered the city.

Maundy Thursday is part of the Christian celebration of Easter and marks the night of the Last Supper as told in the Bible. At the Last Supper, Jesus instituted Holy Communion. Jesus commanded that people should love one another, he then washed the feet of his disciples as an act of kindness.

Good Friday commemorates the death and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Easter Sunday marks the Resurrection of Jesus three days after his death by crucifixion. Easter is the joyful end to the Lenten season of fasting and penitence.

The Monday after Easter began Jesus's 40 days on earth before he ascended to heaven. During this time, Jesus appeared to believers, healed the sick and spread the word of God.
