Mental Health Night at Faith

As a church community, we believe in caring for one another—body, mind, and spirit. On May 6, Faith Lutheran Church in Isle is creating space for an important and meaningful conversation: mental health.

We’re honored to welcome Joy Hensel, Minister of Mental Health from the Northeast Minnesota Synod, for a special evening centered on awareness, education, and support.

Joy will be connecting with multiple groups throughout the evening. She’ll spend time with our Faith in Action kids, offering age-appropriate conversation and understanding. During FIA class, she’ll also provide resources for adults, equipping parents and caregivers with tools to better support themselves and those around them. In addition, Joy will meet with our Confirmation students and Youth Group, helping create safe, honest dialogue around mental health for our young people.

This night isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about showing up, learning together, and creating a space where people feel seen, heard, and supported.

Mental health impacts all of us in different ways—whether personally or through someone we love. By bringing education and conversation into our church, we take an important step toward breaking stigma and building a stronger, more compassionate community.

We invite you to join us. Come as you are, listen, learn, and be part of a community that cares deeply for one another.
