Join Our Team:
Position Title: Custodian
Report to: Lead Pastor
Pay Rate: $15/hour.
Hours: 5-8 hours weekly with more around holidays and special events. Times flexible.
Purpose: To assist in ensuring the Church's physical plant and properties are clean, orderly, and maintained safely.
Weekly Duties: (At least once per week and more as needed)
Vacuum Fellowship Hall and Meeting Room.
Empty all garbage cans in church.
Vacuum office spaces.
Vacuum entrance rugs.
Dust pews, pulpit, altar, railings, piano and organ (but don't dust keys or organ bench)
Vacuum carpeting in church and pews.
Vacuum Library and Education Wing.
Take garbage to the dumpster (this includes anything people want to have disposed of, that ends up in the back entry - cardboard, old books flowers, etc.).
Clean all bathrooms (4); scour toilets, clean mirrors, clean bathroom fixtures - bathrooms are checked and re-cleaned at least three times a week - make sure there is toilet paper, paper towels soap, etc. in them at all times.
Sweep and wash floors in bathrooms and kitchen.
Wash both sides of the eight (8) entrance doors.
Empty vacuum canister and clean bag - sometimes can do twice a month.
Duties as needed:
Purchase supplies needed or report to office things to order.
Sweep entrances, narthex and under pews.
Clean baseboards, check for cob-webs, etc.
Check church after functions, (baby showers, anniv. etc.) and clean as needed.
Check before and after funerals.
Check after weddings held at church - before and after wedding.
Involve Volunteers in the care and maintenance of Church Property and Equipment
Be prepared to report to the office or Property Committee regarding the condition of the Church.
Be responsible for preparing the church facilities before and cleaning after any special events. That is, wedding, funerals, baptism or other special event.
Undertake whatever duties are directed that contribute to the Mission of Faith Lutheran
Church and its safe, clean environment.
