“Be Watchful and Pray - bear good fruit”
"I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit —fruit that will last". John 15:16
We are fragile creatures, living in a world that has its share of tragedy and terror. God never intended that our life be lived in fear and worry. It is his desire that we all live a wholesome life, even in the midst of all the nastiness of this world. God loved us so much that he sent us his son, Jesus. It is through our baptism, we are made a child of God and given an identity in Christ. This identity, however, does not protect us from the harmful things in this world, but it does provide a way for us to endure whatever life’s challenges and temptations come our way. In John 15:4-5, we are told, we are a branch on Christ’s vine and it is our connection to that vine that gives us the necessary nourishment, strength, protection and energy to get through life. By remaining connected to his vine, we will grow in his love and will bear fruit. What a wonderful imagery…what a promise!!
